Dear First Year Students,

We are delighted to welcome you to the master’s degree course, “The Ancient Mediterranean World: History, Archaeology, and Art” at Pavia University.

The next two years promise new experiences for you as members of our campus community. Pavia University has an established and distinguished history within Mediterranean Studies. We offer quality teaching in small groups, which will enable you to develop firsthand expertise with artefacts and historical documents. Our course will provide you with many learning opportunities and allow you to broaden your horizons.

To prepare you for your first classes, a Welcome Meeting is scheduled for the 8th of November 2021. This meeting will take place at the Palazzo San Tommaso, Aula Caminetto, at 4:30 p.m. There, we will provide you with the relevant information on our course’s organization, internships, and fieldwork opportunities. You will also have a chance to meet some of the members of our teaching staff.

After the meeting, we will continue chatting and getting to know each other over a glass of aperitif.
