Housing Support & Co-Housing Initiatives for Students

1 Million Euros Allocated for Student Rent Assistance for Academic Year 2024-25

To support students renting accommodations, EDiSU Pavia has allocated a 1 million euro fund to partially cover rent expenses for the 2024-2025 academic year. The soon-to-be-released application will be open to students who:

  • Are enrolled at the University of Pavia;
  • Reside outside of Pavia’s province;
  • Hold a valid rental contract for the academic year 2024-25;
  • Have an ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) of 40,000 euros or below.

Innovative Intergenerational Co-Housing Program

The University of Pavia is also launching an intergenerational co-housing project, one of Italy’s pioneering initiatives, designed to foster solidarity and social engagement. This program allows citizens of Pavia, aged 65 and older, to offer housing to students in exchange for small forms of assistance, such as help with IT tools or accompaniment to local facilities. The Region of Lombardy has allocated an additional 400,000 euros to further support rental assistance for this initiative.

For participation in the Over65 co-housing program, a basic knowledge of Italian is recommended, as interaction with senior participants is essential. Interested students can reach out at: over65@unipv.it
